Projects & Space done it again!
Wow! The 5th meeting “Ply Wood Project” was really amazing. This group is really growing and doing great things in Barbados. We are truly please with the ply wood project.
On 24th of September 2011, Alicia Allyene, Auerlia Walcott, Sheena Rose and Michael Trotman moved with 23 ply wood pieces to install in different locations. That day was perfect and sunny. No rains clouds in the sky but it was very hot. We were punishing ourselves under that sun but in the end, it really worth it.
The ply wood project, became a moving installation or let’s say a mobile art gallery.
We install these 10 inch ply woods on a construction site, two houses, a play park and the beach.
On 25 th of September, the ply wood project was install by Hasting Boardwalk on Alamanda Hotel ply wood wall. We hung all 23 art pieces onto the wall but the installation grew and grew into 37 art pieces.
Most of the work sold! This event also became an auction too.
Projects & Space will like to thank everyone that participated and submitted work. We will also like to thank persons that allow us to install the work onto their property. We will like to thank persons that assist us installing the ply wood project.
We will like to thank Natalie McGuire for writing an excellent review about the event, Michael Trotman for capturing fantastic photograph and Lew Williams for filming and capturing this great event.
Everyone is now asking…”When is the next one?”
We got the projects, now where is the space?
